- Avoid waxing 7 days before and after this treatment.
- Avoid topical products 24-48 hours before this treatment such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Salicylic Acid, or other anti-aging and acne products.
- Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.
- A history of herpes or cold sores may require a course of anti-viral medication pre and post treatment.
- You should wait 7 days after receiving Botox or Dermal Fillers to receive treatments.
- Do not use heavy makeup for the first day.
- Rinse skin gently (with water only) and pat dry/do not rub.
- Use a gentle moisturiser and cleanser as needed.
- Avoid sun exposure as much as possible for a minimum of 3 days post treatment. If you must be in the sun, apply SPF 30 or greater.
- Avoid excessive heat (heavy workouts, steam room or saunas) for 1-2 days – increasing the body temperature can cause irritation (and possibly injury) to the fresh skin
- Avoid chlorine for 24 hours.
- Avoid any scrubs or products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, retinol, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.).
- You may resume the regular use of these products in 5-7 days.
- Do apply serums as absorption levels will are increased. Use Hyaluronic Acid if skin is dry.
- Dermaplaning can sometimes create scraping, nicking and/or abrading of the skin.
- Do not pick, peel, scratch, or aggressively rub the treated area – you may tear the skin surface causing a wound (and preventing normal healing).
- Light scabs may form in the treated area and remain for 24 to 48 hours.
- Occasional stinging, itching, redness and/or dryness can occur during the first 24 hours.
- A moisturiser or calming serum can be applied to alleviate the symptoms.


- For optimum results, we recommend sessions every 4 weeks, as that is the cell and hair growth cycle. Maintenance treatments will be required to upkeep results.
