MOLE REMOVAL
This type of procedure can be performed by a healthcare professional as well as a beautician or any other appropriately trained non-medical person if the mole is benign and removed for cosmetic.
-
A mole must always be checked with a GP prior to plasma pen treatment.
-
When removing moles, you need to use the ‘spray’ method. You need to wipe off the burnt skin and then continue to apply heat from the plasma pen, and continue again.
-
You need to make sure you are stopping to wipe off the burnt skin, so you can see how much more skin is need to be levelled off. If you do not check you can instead cause a groove into the skin as you did not level it.
-
If the mole is rooted between the dermis and epidermis, a slight deeper ablation may be required to remove the lesion in one session only. If these more deeply rooted moles are levelled off with the surrounding skin area, multiple sessions may be required to remove them effectively.
-
When removing small and thin moles, low power levels may be enough to remove the small moles quickly. You may also find that for small thin moles a quick scan on the top of the mole will remove them.
-
If a mole or benign skin lesion appears to be inflamed, itchy or bleeding - Refer the client to a dermatologist at once, because the lesion may not be benign.
-
There cannot be any guarantee of not leaving a mark or small scar after removing any moles.
skin tag removal
SKIN TAG REMOVAL
-
When removing a skin tag, you need to use tweezers to hold the tag. You then need to use a needle to outline around the skin tag, eventually allowing it to detach from the skin and fall off.
-
Once the skin tag has become detached, you can then level off the remaining skin tag using the spray technique.
-
Skin tags don’t have any nerves in them, but the tiny stalk that attaches the tag to your skin does have tiny nerves in it. This means that a skin tag also needs to be checked by a GP prior to treatment.
