TATTOO REMOVAL

Tattoo removal is a process that breaks down and removes tattoo ink particles from the skin, using laser technology. During treatment, high-intensity light pulses target the ink, breaking it into smaller particles that the body can naturally eliminate over time. Multiple sessions are often required, depending on the tattoo's size, color, depth, and the individual’s skin type.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TATTOO REMOVAL?

  1.  Skin Clarity and Health: Modern laser tattoo removal minimizes scarring and supports the regeneration of healthy skin cells, leading to clearer skin with minimal irritation.

  2. Improved Self-Confidence: Many people feel more confident after removing tattoos they no longer resonate with, allowing them to express themselves authentically.

  3. Ability to Start Fresh: Tattoo removal offers the freedom to clear the skin and create space for new tattoos that better reflect current styles, values, or personal growth.

WHAT LASER MACHINE IS USED AND DOES IT TREAT ALL SKIN TYPES?

We use the TGA approved medical grade E-Luxx Q-Switched Laser , which treats all skin types.

The actual treatment on the skin can take about 10 minutes -1 hours,, depending on the size of the area and if more than one area is being treated. Aftercare will be applied on the skin.

WHAT RESULTS TO EXPECT AFTER EACH SESSION

  • Session 1: You might see slight fading, particularly in areas with lighter ink..

  • Session 2-4: By the second or third session, the tattoo usually begins to fade more obviously, with the outline and shading becoming lighter.

  • Session 5-7: Most of the ink, especially lighter colors, is greatly reduced. Darker colors like black, blue, and red can still be somewhat visible.

PREPARATION AND AFTERCARE

Preparation

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the area from the sun for at least 2-4 weeks before treatment. Sunburnt or tanned skin is more sensitive and can increase the risk of pigmentation changes or burns.

  • Discontinue Tanning Products: Stop using self-tanning products on the treatment area a few weeks before, as they can interfere with laser targeting.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps keep skin healthy and can aid in the body’s healing process after treatment.

  • Shave the Area (if needed): If the tattoo is in a hairy area, shaving can help the laser target the ink without interference. Avoid waxing or plucking, which can irritate the skin.

  • Avoid Certain Medications: Some medications, especially blood thinners, can increase bruising or bleeding risks. Discuss with your specialist if you're on any medication, and they can guide you on what to avoid.

  • Refrain from Alcohol and Smoking: Avoid alcohol and smoking 24-48 hours before treatment, as they can slow the healing process and increase recovery time.

  • Stop Skincare Treatments: Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or any abrasive skin treatments on the tattoo area for at least 2 weeks before the session.

  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Dress in loose-fitting clothes that allow easy access to the tattoo area and don’t rub against the treated skin.

  • Follow Pain Management Advice: Ask your practitioner about numbing options if you’re concerned about discomfort, and if advised, take pain medication like acetaminophen before the procedure (avoid ibuprofen or aspirin).

  • Eat a Light Meal: A small meal or snack before the session can help prevent lightheadedness due to stress or the treatment itself.

  • Avoid scrubbing the area.

  • What is the Fibroblast/Plasma Pen treatment?
Fibroblast/Plasma Pen treatment is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma to reduce the volume of excess skin. This treatment is low risk, has minimal downtime and more affordable than surgery. Fibroblast Treatment is known for it's success with Non Surgical Eye Lifts, Tummy Tightening, Neck Tightening and so much more.
  • Why does it have two names? Is fibroblast and plasma pen the same treatment?
This treatment has two different names in the beauty industry, however both of them are the same procedures and use the same machines. The treatment name 'fibroblast' derives from the fibroblast cells which are stimulated during this procedure. The other treatment name 'plasma pen' comes from the name of the machine which is used for this procedure.
  • What are fibroblast cells?
Fibroblasts are active cells in the dermis. Their function is to increase the productions of fibres, collagen and glycosaminoglycans. The number and productivity of fibroblasts decline with age. Their density gradually begins to decrease and fibroblasts in connective tissue rarely undergo division. Small injuries from plasma stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elevates elastin levels.
  • What does the plasma pen do?
The Plasma pen ionises gas in the air to create a small plasma flash. When the plasma touches the skin surface, the heat widens and is transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The skin then contracts and tightens, tones and lifts. Overall, this method activates healing, and this leads to the skin remodeling and improvement in various signs of aging
  • How many sessions do I need? How long do results last?
Results are immediate! So a single session is often all you need, as all clients see results post-treatment. However, follow up treatments can be performed after 8-12 weeks if needed. Results are expected to last 1 - 2 years. Results and the required sessions can vary each client, as it depends on the aging of the skin, its decrease in elasticity and how deep the wrinkle lines are.
  • What happens during the procedure? How long does it take?
During the procedure, you will discuss your desired treatment area. This consultation will be roughly 10-15 minutes, as you will also need to fill in the consultation from. Numbing cream will then be applied to the area and will be left on for 40 minutes. The actual treatment on the skin can take about 30 minutes-1.5 hours, depending on the size of the area and if more than one area is being treated.
  • Does it hurt? How long do the spots last?
It is similar to hair removal laser, where you will feel mild zaps (not as strong as hair removal though!). Numbing cream will be applied to minimise this feeling. The carbon crusts will show immediately and are expected to fall off from 3-5 days (can be up to 7). There is minimal downtime compared to other treatments/surgeries.
  • Who is an ideal client? Are there any limitations?
    - The client should be in good health at the time of the appointment, with no preexisting health conditions. If the client displays signs of cold or flu the treatment should be rescheduled. - This treatment is ONLY recommended on Fitzpatrick Scales 1-3. Fibroblast Treatment is NOT advised for those with very dark skin (Fitzpartrick Scales. 4 +). • Is aftercare provided?

A free complimentary aftercare ointment is provided, which needs to be applied while the carbon crusts are on the skin. After the 7 days and the carbon crusts have fallen off, our Fibroblast Skincare hyaluronic acid gel is to applied. Clients can purchase the hyaluronic gel from us. • What minimal side-effects can I expect after the procedure?
Fibroblast has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature when done by a fully certified technician. Still the majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects in the 7-10 days following treatment. Immediately after the treatment, the are may be red and midly swollen. You may experience a sensation similar to a sunburn which will last for a few hours on the day of the treatment. If this feels uncomfortable, apply an ice pack. There will be small carbon crusts (dots) in the treated area that will last 3-7 days before naturally lifting, revealing new pink skin beneath. Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for 2-3 days following an upper eyelid treatment. To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation and to ensure the best results, follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.
