What is the Fibroblast/Plasma Pen treatment?Fibroblast/Plasma Pen treatment is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma to reduce the volume of excess skin. This treatment is low risk, has minimal downtime and more affordable than surgery. Fibroblast Treatment is known for it's success with Non Surgical Eye Lifts, Tummy Tightening, Neck Tightening and so much more.
-
Why does it have two names? Is fibroblast and plasma pen the same treatment? This treatment has two different names in the beauty industry, however both of them are the same procedures and use the same machines. The treatment name 'fibroblast' derives from the fibroblast cells which are stimulated during this procedure. The other treatment name 'plasma pen' comes from the name of the machine which is used for this procedure.
-
What are fibroblast cells?Fibroblasts are active cells in the dermis. Their function is to increase the productions of fibres, collagen and glycosaminoglycans. The number and productivity of fibroblasts decline with age. Their density gradually begins to decrease and fibroblasts in connective tissue rarely undergo division. Small injuries from plasma stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elevates elastin levels.
-
What does the plasma pen do?The Plasma pen ionises gas in the air to create a small plasma flash. When the plasma touches the skin surface, the heat widens and is transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The skin then contracts and tightens, tones and lifts. Overall, this method activates healing, and this leads to the skin remodeling and improvement in various signs of aging
-
How many sessions do I need? How long do results last? Results are immediate! So a single session is often all you need, as all clients see results post-treatment. However, follow up treatments can be performed after 8-12 weeks if needed. Results are expected to last 1 - 2 years. Results and the required sessions can vary each client, as it depends on the aging of the skin, its decrease in elasticity and how deep the wrinkle lines are.
-
What happens during the procedure? How long does it take?During the procedure, you will discuss your desired treatment area. This consultation will be roughly 10-15 minutes, as you will also need to fill in the consultation from. Numbing cream will then be applied to the area and will be left on for 40 minutes. The actual treatment on the skin can take about 30 minutes-1.5 hours, depending on the size of the area and if more than one area is being treated.
-
Does it hurt? How long do the spots last?It is similar to hair removal laser, where you will feel mild zaps (not as strong as hair removal though!). Numbing cream will be applied to minimise this feeling. The carbon crusts will show immediately and are expected to fall off from 3-5 days (can be up to 7). There is minimal downtime compared to other treatments/surgeries.
